The First Hunt and Your New Dawn are short stories I wrote as experiments. I was trying to lock down a style I wanted to use in a full-length Starhunters novel, so I wrote them as tests.

They both concern major plot events in the proposed outline of the novel, written as excerpts to try and establish tone and style. While I felt like I had hit something I liked by Your New Dawn, the Starhunters novel never materialized. In the end, the ideas I had for it never cohered into a single story. I’m still messing with it in my head, so maybe something will come of it. I like the setting.
